<image:caption>OUTDOOR KITCHEN: Part of a Backyard Kitchen we worked on. We built a wraparound hearth for a 16' fireplace, complete with benches, media cabinets, & a builtin bartop & stainless steel grill. My favorite part of the project was cutting straight, flat ledgestone into small, angled pieces to create a rounded bench. Anytime someone ask me if I can do intricate tile work, I show them this photo. If I can make something round out of something flat, I can handle patterns...</image:caption>

<image:title>Work</image:title>
<image:caption>THE HORSEBARN: One of, if not the top of the list, my all time favorite projects: We converted an old manure coated horse stall into a corporate office complete with a storage closet, display loft, 2 bathrooms, & tongue & groove boards for days. Specifically for this photo, we custom built these doors to match the aesthetic of the original barn doors. We also built the loft with distressed corrugated tin & recessed lighting.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work</image:title>
<image:caption>FORREST LANE: We vaulted the ceiling to convert 3 rooms into one open space. We reworked the existing dated cabinets to fit the new design. The sink was relocated to a new island (custom built to match the old cabinets) & all of the doors were sanded & given a facelift to make Shaker Style cabinet doors (hiding the old scrollwork carved into the door faces).</image:caption>

<image:title>Work</image:title>
<image:caption>MOBILE WORKSHOP: Our biggest showpiece, our 14' trailer was built out to be a custom mobile workshop. We purchased fifteen 4'x4' bookcases from the school district & broke them down, de-nailed them, & then cut them down to build all new custom cabinets, drawers, shelves, & cubbies to house our tools & equipment.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work</image:title>
<image:caption>FORREST LANE: An in-progress shot as we finished up the cabinets. As you can see in the top portion, the home had a very broken-up entry, kitchen, & living room - cramped, dark, & labyrinthian. We installed an engineered beam just under the ridge of the roofline, installed all new joists, support posts in the end walls, & added spray foam insulation. This transformation begs the question: Why was the home built any other way to begin with?</image:caption>

<image:title>Work</image:title>
<image:caption>MARTIN LANE: The homeowners wanted an open feel, but they did not want to vault the ceiling, so we installed header beams & cased openings to make the spaces flow. We also removed two walls completely while actually building a new wall - in doing so, we eliminated an odd formal sitting room that was between the front door & the kitchen, moved the kitchen 90º so it was along the front of the house, & we created a bonus room where the old kitchen breakfast area had been. We also doubled the size of the laundry suite & fixed some odd choices for exterior door placements.</image:caption>

<image:caption>MURVAUL BOATHOUSE: We installed T1-11 Siding inside this boathouse to finish it out, painted it, & installed new outdoor ceiling fans.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work</image:title>
<image:caption>MARTIN LANE: So. Much. Wallpaper. We gutted this kitchen, built a wall between the two windows in the upper photograph creating a bonus room/guestroom, fostering a more natural flow from the front door to the kitchen, & allowing the kitchen to spill into the living room through a cased opening. All new cabinets, granite countertops, black subway tile backsplash, recessed lighting, & a gorgeous custom walk-in pantry (just out of frame to the left of the dishwasher).</image:caption>

<image:caption>PIER & BEAM: This was the kind of house that most people would just bulldoze & sell the land. My client trusted me to restore it completely. The bathroom might as well have had paper floors because the joists were rotten & the floor was caving in. We rebuilt the substructure, installed new subfloor, & installed a new vanity, tile floors, shiplap walls, & a new tub with a shower surround.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work</image:title>
<image:caption>PIER & BEAM: The living room floor was sinking - 8" lower in the center than at the outside walls. We took up the original hardwood floors, de-nailed them, stacked them, then rebuilt the entire substructure, installed new subfloor, moisture barrier, & reinstalled the original hardwood floors piece by piece.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work</image:title>
<image:caption>BIRD DRIVE: This house was just outdated & slightly damaged, so we installed luxury vinyl plank flooring (tile look), a new vanity, a new tub/shower combo, & we installed shiplap to the walls with all new trim & a new mirror.</image:caption>
